that's my grandma. she probably made the dress she's wearing.
standing in front of the roses that would bloom for her, year after year, without fail. full and bright they gave her so much pride.
she didn't ask for much. and sometimes didn't get it.
she was a skilled baker, chef, seamstress. mostly loving sister, mother, wife and grandmother who wasn't above losing her temper and showing she was human after all.
her home was always clean, filled with food and music. ohmigosh, she loved music. and when there wasn't any she would make it.
and then dance to it.
she had great style. she wasn't afraid to mix high with low, long before it was a fashionista staple.
my grandmother had that amazing ability to enter a social situation and make at least one new friend. she was charming and funny and able to converse on a wide variety of topics with confidence. and when she wasn't confident, she would fake it.
she didn't suffer fools lightly.
she was stubborn and determined. when she was told the women didn't and shouldn't drive she took the keys in the night and taught herself. {my grandfather never said 'no' to anything after that.}
i wish there had been more time and i had been able to get to know her as a women instead of as just my grandmother.
i am linking up with '30 days hath november'

She sounds amazing. :)
