gifted, not thrifted {part two}

you know that mental thrifting list we all make?  those items we keep in our brains to look for when out and about?  the items that murphy's law dictates that because we are looking for them the chances of us actually stumbling on them become less and less?
for the longest time my mental list was topped with a metal bread box.  it had to be metal.  i found countless numbers of wooden ones, charming and useful in their way, but no metal ones to take home.
so how excited was i when i mentioned this to boy's mum and she replied with "i have one in storage.  do you want it?"   Y TO THE E-S!  please.

and the matching canisters.  matching canisters, people.  matching canisters with amazing retro font. eep.

of course, now that this wonderful set is happy in it's place in my home i have come across not one, not two, three or four metal bread boxes but five.  five metal bread boxes.

but not one as amazing as mine.  {kind of like boy's mum.  amazing.}

apologies for the crappy photo quality.  shooting shiny tin with reflections and stuff is hard work, y'all.
